Volunteers help drive the DYC Project forward by committing their skills, time and energy to support our community partners in providing services that contribute to:

  • Youth Empowerment
  • Business Development & Entrepreneurial skills
  • Youth Creativity and Innovation: assisting youth with transforming ideas into income earning activities and business ventures
  • Organizational Capacity Building;

DYC Project Volunteers are recruited on both an international and local level. Since inception, the DYC Project has benefited from volunteers from Canada, The Democratic Republic of Congo, Barbados and the United States.

International Volunteers:

  • Jamaican Diaspora Volunteers: USA, Canada
  • Regional ‘South-South’ Volunteers: CARICOM Nationals
  • ‘Friends of Jamaica’: Citizens of other Countries & Regions

The Jamaican Diaspora is an asset to both the present and future holistic development of Jamaica. By calling on members to lend their expertise/skills to the DYC Project, this can serve to strengthen the capacity, entrepreneurial and business management skills of the youth, and to also leverage the human and financial resources that exist abroad.

Communities We Reach:

Working in partner organizations through volunteers, the DYC project reaches a total of eight (8) at-risk inner-city communities in Jamaica.
